I recently read an article written by a top P.R. executive in Los Angeles who has been in this industry for 30 plus years. In the article he said, “the world of public relations has changed more in the last 5 years than it has in my first 20.” Pretty profound! He went on to talk about how social media and on-line marketing are dominating our industry. It’s no secret that these two components have to be a part of your company’s marketing plan. What is a secret to be discovered for some companies is how to dominate this space. It takes time, creativity, research and effort – even sometimes just for that one little Facebook post. But the exposure you can receive through on-line marketing and social media are truly incredible.
We see the success with our own clients every week. In fact, just last week we posted a real estate listing for one of our clients. Five minutes after the post, our office received a phone call thanking us for the way the Facebook post was created and written. This real estate agent received a call just minutes after the post…and the lead was a strong one (haven’t heard yet if it went to contract).
Don’t be one of those companies back in the 90’s who claimed the internet was just a fad (how embarrassing). Be proactive! Be bold! Be social! If you haven’t changed your marketing, advertising or public relations plan in the past few years…you may want to readdress it.
