COVID-19: Creative Option Versus Impending Deficit

Over the past several days we have experienced unprecedented times and it seems as though the restrictions, regulations and bans continue to mount hour by hour. While global health concerns are increasing so are concerns over the economy. How will businesses survive while we are living through this pandemic? Especially small businesses.

While every industry and business has their own unique sales process we are living in a time where technology is prevalent in practically every home across the world. Consider how your sales force can use technology in new and creative ways to interface with your prospects and clients.

  • Promote specials for future offerings
  • Invest in online chat for your website
  • Provide Facebook Live options to walk prospects through your product offerings and encourage questions & dialogue
  • Increase blog content as people are spending more time at home and on devices

The reason face-to-face interaction and marketing are sometimes more powerful than digital marketing is because it becomes personal. While buyers often like the anonymity of doing research online, research shows a significant increase of sales close rate when the purchase is done in person. During this time of encouraged isolation, find ways to make your brand and your sales process “personal” while taking it digital:

  • Give your brand online personality
  • Don’t just push your product, increase your brand identity
  • Be present on social media and provide relevant and useful content during a time when social traffic is increasing

Above all, try to find ways to become socially responsible within your community. Companies should be increasingly integrating social responsibility. While it shouldn’t be the driving force behind your desire to help others, consumers appreciate businesses who do! Find ways to help while we all navigate through this pandemic together.
